A Question to Vendors on Ebook Length
I have looked on the forum and i have also looked on outside sources the rule seems to be:
"Once youve given quality and said all you can say on the subject then thats the correct amount of pages"
However, this is kinda useless, i know i could write a good 40 page ebook on a niche im stupidly familier with and i know it would fix the problem but wouldnt you be a bit disapointed if i sold that ebook for say $29.99 when theres other products the same price that have streched the information with fillers and made a 100 page ebook. I could make mine massive as well but then i am just diluting the pefect knowledge....
Also i was wondering, when you have extra givaways how long do you make those additional ebooks that have surrounding informaiton within?
I dont plan to become a vendor for a good month longer, if not even longer then that but i dont want to create a product and spend money if i end up getting refunds due tot the person not thinking it was worth it without reading it.....

I have a site that has been online since 2001 and is generating the same amount of unique users daily, with the same amount of pageviews daily, for the past 5-6 years. It is SEO and I am happy that I finally got around to adding ads to the site a couple months ago.
I haven't added any content/news to the site since early 2008, but it's still generating the same consistent activity.
It is earning $5-7/day on weekdays and $10-$15/day on weekends. I think this is because youth search for games more on the weekend.
I believe my earnings are decent, but sadly, I am only getting $0.01-0.10 per click. That is A LOT of clicks on a Saturday and Sunday.
My ad placement is perfect (that's why I'm getting so many clicks), but I just want to figure out ways to earn more $. So any tips on what I can do?

Having trouble with Wordpress DB
I have a wordpress blog related to health niche and have 5000+ posts and 12000+ tags and 50 categories.
The blog worked great untill a month back. Now, whenever I update my old posts or access old posts, the mysql usage goes to 100% for few mins then works. Because of high CPU usage my host blocks my account. There is no resource issue if I create a new post or view new posts. The problem is with old posts only.
I also did DB optimization, exported the DB and imported to new DB, changing themes, disabling plugins, etc. but the problem is not resolved.
Anyone have had experience like this ? would love to hear your suggestions.
Using latest WP versions, latest version of plugins.

Most people are familiar with the word bankruptcy, but many do not know much about Chapter 7 bankruptcy. This article deals with some of the more common issues associated with this particular form of bankruptcy. First of all, Chapter 7 is the most commonly used filing when it comes to bankruptcy. It is sometimes known as liquidation bankruptcy. There can be some exceptions but almost always Chapter 7 is used by individuals and not by business corporations, small companies or partnerships in business. When used by businesses, Chapter 7 ordinarily results in the termination of the business entity and so this form of bankruptcy is usually not used by those entities. Another side note to this is that the complete discharge of debt under Chapter 7 is only available to individual debtors. Chapter 7 is a liquidation (selling) process in which the non-exempt property that is owned by the person filing is liquidated (sold) for distribution to the creditors. The debtor then receives a discharge of all dischargeable debts. Generally speaking, those who file for Chapter 7 are in very bad financial conditions, usually with large credit card and other secured and unsecured debt. For the most part, these individuals do not own many assets, which can be sold off which means that they have less to lose than some other more affluent individuals. Normally, these people are able to completely eliminate, most or all of their debts. To be eligible to file for chapter 7 you must not have been granted a Chapter 7 discharge within the last six years or have completed a Chapter 13. You must not have had a bankruptcy filing dismissed for cause within the last six months. There are, of course, many other requirements, far too many to be listed in this article, but these are the most commonly asked about requirements for filing under Chapter 7. After your bankruptcy is filed, the court will mail a written notice to all the creditors listed in your schedules. Once a creditor or collector has been notified of your filing they must stop all efforts to collect the debt. This is one of the benefits of filing for bankruptcy and can help stop harassment. Consumers should understand that they might still be responsible for certain debts even after filing for Chapter 7. The following debts are usually not forgiven or discharged: taxes that are owed to state and Federal governments, alimony and child support, those debts that came about because of willful misconduct, liability for injury or death from driving while intoxicated; non-dischargeable debts from a prior bankruptcy, most types of student loans, and those debts that came about through fraud or criminal activities that the person engaged in. Anyone considering filing for bankruptcy should first seek advice from a bankruptcy attorney. He or she can help you make the best decisions concerning which chapter you should file. They can also give you guidance on the new bankruptcy laws that are now in effect. Consumers who are close to bankruptcy should also ask for advice from their local advice center in order to get their finances in some sort of order.

We run a forum, we have a competitor - another similar forum. They are bigger and older than us, we are busier and newer than them. Post counts are 50k apart and closing. There is rivalry!
A few days ago, they started faking their "members online" stats by doing this:
In the code, there are values that read like so:
Users online in the last <get value><get figure>
The site draws those values from the database and settings - they cannot easily be faked. It gets a minute value from your settings, and an online number from the database.
They recently faked theirs by doing this:
Users online in the last 30 minutes <get figure>
You can see that the "30 minutes" figure is not drawn from the settings, it is just written. This means members see what they believe to be 30 minutes and the value drawn from the database is maybe 4 days.
The result is they now show "total online ever" figures of about 1500. They are showing "online" figures of over 1000 too. This is fantasy and all faked as described.
The question is why?
Is this some kind of optimization ruse?
Is it some kind of black hat thing?
Is Google reading "member numbers online" now or something?
I am stumped.
Why does a big successful forum blatantly start to fake their member online figures this way? The guy is a very experienced webmaster, he has a reason for this activity. He understands boards, he understands Google, he understands the whole picture. And he has a reason for what he is doing.
I just want to know why.
